Wax Cord Rim

Learn to weave this mini (3" x 3") gourd with waxed linen and beads. The gourd will already be cut, cleaned, dyed and drilled. There will be a variety of colors to choose from.

Dots and Leaves

 Giant leaves dominate   the gourd surface with bright colors and background is done with lots and   lots of dots that recede, Gourd will be prepped, cleaned and ready for   carving, You get to pick the bright colors to fill in the leaves and color in   the background before dotting.

Bird and Butterflies on Faux Filigree Bowl

You will learn how to   make the bird, butterflies, faux filigree, and rim treatment. This is going   to be a discovery class you will not believe after you get to class. You will   make your bowls first with what I have already prepared for you. You will spend the rest   of the class learning how to make your own embellishments. this is a stress  free class and a lot of fun.

Needle Felting Poseable Fox (3-D)

We’ll make a “skeleton” out of pipe cleaners, then use special needles to add wool roving to the fox’s body. Then we’ll add fur – in the colors of your choice – and ears and other details. This project will go into more advanced soft-sculpture techniques, but is still suitable for any skill level (including beginners). All supplies are included.

"Ribbit" Sand Gourd

Create this adorable gourd out of sand and glue. The teacher will provide everything except the gourd. You will need a Martin size gourd about 6 to 8 inches in diameter. If you want the backgrond painted or dyed, you will need to do that before the class.  We will only have time to play with the frog. He is beautiful on a natural gourd too.

     Learn twining and   triple twining with fall colored reed on a dyed gourd. The stakes will cross about half way up to enhance design   element and the weaving will resume. Finish will be a stakes coming into   gourd and back out again. All gourds will be prepped with stakes already in,   so all you have to do is sit down and weave.

Glass Mud Bowl

 In this class you   will learn and easy way to transfer a design to a bowl after painting it. You   will learn how to get the glass mud ready to use and where to purchase the   glass mud. You will then learn to use glass mud to outline your design using   a technique created by the maker of the glass mud. We will play with the mud   and some scrape gourd to give you a chance to get used to it before you start   your bowl. Your bowls will be different that the one pictured. The bowls will   be at 6" tall and rounded. These are not little bowls.

Mushroom Forest

 We'll use special   needles to attach wool roving onto cotton flannel to make a tree bark   texture. Then we'll add moss, shelf lichens, mushrooms, and other details.   Once finished, we'll frame your mushroom forest with an embroidery hoop.   This project will go into more advanced wool-painting and soft-sculpture   techniques, but is still suitable for any skill level (including beginners).   All supplies are included


There is a take-home bag of tools to keep felting at home for an additional $5.00.
